Q. Is Steady-Up® suitable to use with young horses?
A. Steady-Up® can be given to any age horse and is particularly beneficial for young horses who need additional support to remain focussed. Steady-Up® is also great to use when horses are facing new environments or experiences.
Q. Does Steady-Up® work for spooky horses?
A. Steady-Up® contains Chamomile, which is known for its soothing properties as well as Tryptophan, which is an amino acid precursor for serotonin. Serotonin is the ‘happy hormone’ so feeding Steady-Up® can help horses to feel more relaxed in environment which might be scary for them.
Q. My horse is very stress but isn’t spooky, so I haven’t thought of using a calmer. Would Steady-Up® help?
A. Stress causes magnesium to be depleted from the body. Magnesium is required for nerve cell transmission as it regulates the ion balance across the cell membranes. It can also have a calming effect as it eases muscle tremors and nervousness. Steady-Up® contains two forms of Magnesium to aid absorption into the body.
Q. When I take my horse to competitions or away from the yard, he gets lose droppings? Would a calmer work for this issue?
A. Stress can have a negative impact on the horse’s digestive system. Brewer’s Yeast has a prebiotic effect on the gut which means that it acts as a food source of the hindgut microbes. Prebiotics help to improve the hindgut environment and the other beneficial ingredient in the Steady-Up® will help to reduce stress and anxiety, all of which will help to reduce the digestive issues your horse experiences.
